Rudy and his new pal Devray get the fright of their lives while playing Halloween pranks on the elderly as the rest of the kids set their sights on Searchlight Johnson and Mudfoot Brown. Little do the kids realize that the little old lady who lives in the house by the cemetery has finally gotten her fill of their moonlit mischief, and she's about to give them a frightening taste of their own medicine. For years, Bishop (Noel Jones) has presided over his South Central L.A. congregation with equal parts passion and compassion, and director Sophie Fiennes captures a four-month sample of his sermons in the documentary Hoover Street Revival. Though primarily consisting of the Bishop's fiery speeches to his flock at the Greater Bethany Community Church -- backed by the sounds of a full gospel choir -- the film also drops in on Jones' life in the neighborhood. Fiennes is able to make a link between events both tragic and hopeful and the way Jones chooses to present them in church. The director and her subject both have successful siblings themselves: Fiennes is the sister of actor Ralph Fiennes; Jones is the big brother of legendary vocalist Grace Jones. ~ Michael Hastings, All Movie Guide

Eddie Murphy gets way, way out in this futuristic sci-fi comedy. In the year 2087, the Earth's natural resources have been largely depleted, and an increasingly large number of people have taken up residence on the moon, where the pioneering attitude of the new residents has created a culture not unlike the old west. Pluto Nash (Eddie Murphy) is one such lunar exile who formerly made his living outside the law, but has since gone straight and now runs the hippest nightclub in the moon colony known as "Little America." Pluto is approached by Mogan (Joe Pantoliano), a gangster who wants to buy the nightclub; Pluto has no interest in selling, but it seems Mogan isn't about to take no for an answer. Pluto also discovers Mogan is in cahoots with Max Crater, a crime boss whose goal is to take over the entire moon. The Adventures Of Pluto Nash also features Randy Quaid as Pluto's robot bodyguard, Rosario Dawson as a naive singer who has just arrived on the moon, Peter Boyle as Rowland the pool hustler, Jay Mohr as old-school lounge singer Tony Francis, Illeana Douglas as a cloning technician, and Pam Grier as Pluto's mother. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

While twin sisters Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry gained fame playing twin sisters on the sitcom Sister Sister, this comic fantasy finds them stretching their talents by playing grandmother and granddaughter. When the Donovan family moves from California to Connecticut, 17-year-old Sydney (Tia Mowry) finds it's not easy being in a new town away from her old friends, but her 12-year-old genius brother Willie (Tahj Mowry) is happy as long as he can tinker in his lab with his increasingly complex experiments. Willie is convinced he can defeat the aging process, and while devising an experimental anti-aging formula, he accidentally spills some on a bar of soap. When his grandmother Cat (Hope Clarke) mistakenly uses the tainted soap, she's transformed into a 17-year-old (Tamera Mowry). Her husband Gene (Robert Hooks) follows suit, and is also returned to his teenaged self (Mark Taylor). Cat and Gene are having a fine time reliving their youth and enjoying the thrill of teenage romance, but there's a fly in the ointment -- Willie learns his formula could have deadly side effects, and now he must discover an antidote to return his grandparents to their older but healthy bodies. Seventeen Again also features an appearance by popular vocal group Boyz II Men; one of the group's singers, Shawn Stockman, served as executive producer for the project. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
